This shape is available in Abalone, Bone, Horn, Ebony, rosewood, Cocobolo, Boxwood, Corailwood and Macassar Ebony. It was initially inteded for Bass.

The 3 pointed edges are similar and give you a pretty identical attack and tone. I personally like to get one tip used first then use the second tip for awhile, then I have 3 totally different tones on the same pick depending of witch tip I use. I actually use the refiner files from the accessory page to adjust any point.
